Legitimate Work At Home Jobs

Legitimate work at home jobs can easily be found, if you know where to look. However, it is unfortunately true that there are also many scams and dubious schemes which should be avoided at all costs. So how do you know which is which?

Common sense will usually tell you. Legitimate work at home jobs generally pay a fair rate for a fair day's business. If you find that you are being offered exceptionally high rates for fairly ordinary jobs, the alarm bells should start ringing. Most scams are concentrated on unskilled projects, such as typing ads or stuffing envelopes. This is because the con artists can reach the largest audience this way - everyone wants easy money. But if the business is so easy to do, and there are millions of people willing to do it, why would anyone pay you high rates?

Some jobs, however, are harder to judge. For example admin projects or medical transcription jobs may well be genuine. On the other hand, these are still targets for various scams. So to find scam-free jobs, you need to take care. Read the advert for the job carefully. If it sounds like an advert, rather than a job posting, take care. Someone who is genuinely looking to employ people will not need to 'sell' the job. Here are some of the most common home business scams:

  • answering email
  • typing ads
  • envelope stuffing
  • assembling toys
  • mailing orders

However, you should not be discouraged. There are plenty of perfectly sound jobs which can be done from your own house. You just need to take a little extra care in finding and selecting them. At the end of the day, it all boils down to using your grey matter. If a job sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Use sites like ours to find jobs that are genuine, and which can earn you a fair and reasonable income.

TESTIMONIALS

"I took a chance one day when I was flush and sent a few bucks to gain access to the Freelance Work Exchange Professional Edition. Since then, I've edited a sales letter, a follow-up letter, an 11-page Web site, and a brochure. I'm 'on call' to do pinch-hit proofreading for a medical newsletter editor in Florida ..and I've landed a gig editing a new Canadian magazine coming out this fall. All this from taking a chance on Freelance Work Exchange."

"Once again, you guys have come through with incredible results. Our job post definitely produced the type and quality of person we needed, and we found who we were looking for quickly. From now on, you're my first choice when I need to hire someone."
